Two Unidentified Wildflowers

I have tall (approximately 6" tall) clumps of this in the woods near the brooks. it seems coated with white fuzz but seems to have chlorophyll. Is it Indian pipe or broomrape?

These three photos are of a small plant with a tiny flower. You can see in one photo that it looks like grains on grass stem. I have gone through every page in two wildflower books and there is nothing there. It grows at the base of a tree.

Thank you for any help you can give me!

  1. Very interesting. The first looks like fern fronds ready to unfurl but the second--I don't know but I will find out. MB
