These two baby bulls were born in Farmer Bob's barn in October, when I took these photos. But because I still have no Internet at home, my posting is now haphazard. This will soon be fixed. Farmer Bob was a bit concerned when his first three calves were bulls. Finally the fourth one was a heifer. When clicked, these photos will open, full size, in a new window.
I was photographing a herd of cattle in a field in Barton village. They saw me standing near the fence and came right over for a chat. This particular cow actually bumped the camera lens. I saw her coming through the view finder but I guess I misjudged how long she would take to bump into me. She and I are just fine and I got this shot. For more about this heard, see here and here. On my way through Barton today, I stopped to photograph the Herefords that are always grazing in the village. I think they are Herefords — if they aren't, please tell me so that I don't look foolish. As soon as I stopped the car, they began to come to the fence from all over the pasture. The second to the last photo of the red cow shows her scratching her neck on the barbed wire. In the corn maze on Saturday, I was fascinated by the roots of each stalk of corn.
