I was photographing a herd of cattle in a field in Barton village. They saw me standing near the fence and came right over for a chat. This particular cow actually bumped the camera lens. I saw her coming through the view finder but I guess I misjudged how long she would take to bump into me. She and I are just fine and I got this shot. For more about this heard, see here and here. When clicked, this photo will open, full size, in a new window.
Thank you for visiting!
Hah! You're lucky that cow didn't lick your lens -:)
ReplyDeleteOh my...she wanted a kiss. Cows are very curious creatures and generally like human beings. They love to be scratched and kissed. If you kiss one they will all come over for a kiss. They will even kiss you back with a lick across your face or your hands and if you have never been kissed by a cow, and you are female, you need to try it once and then try to explain the feeling to your hubby.
ReplyDeleteTheir tongues are absolutely amazing and feeling something like a soft wood rasp.
Awesome shot, complete with a fly too! And thank you Mr Lincoln for the cow education ... I'm going looking for a kiss today!
ReplyDeleteLOL what a curious little cow!
ReplyDeleteFirst I laughed at the picture, then I fell off my chair reading Abes comment.. grear odd shot..
ReplyDeleteNice nose.
ReplyDeleteMy computer was down for awhile---but I am back.
May I put the church photo on my holy houses blog? MB
Gee ... a little more and the cow would have licked the whole lenses!
ReplyDeleteBeen seeing your wonderfull photos posted on the weekend. Lovely church.
Great nose of a macro shot.
ReplyDeleteBack from Ireland and sorting photos, but the jars are now revealed.
LOL! Funny odd shot! Mary :-D
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting angle! Sometimes it's the outside the box thinking that makes for a great photo!
ReplyDeleteNow, see what happens when you start nosing around with a camera? :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm not nearly as much of a romantic as Mr. Lincoln. Whenever my neighbors cows come over to me, I assume they think I might have some feed. Cows think with their stomachs, not their heart.
Wow, talk about up close and personal!! I'm glad you are both okay. You got a great shot out of your intimate contact, but did you get the camera lens clean? lol
ReplyDeleteGreat shot -- if you want to kiss a cow! I wonder if Mr. Lincoln is kidding in his remarks???
ReplyDeleteThat is such a good shot.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about cow kisses, but I've hand my had licked!
odd indeed. did it wet your cam?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo, Andree! Her face is so very clean and soft. I want to give her a little scratch!
ReplyDeleteAbe's comment knocked me over, too. Next time I see a field of cows, I'll give it a try and keep my camera ready!
Lol... terrific shot... and, hmmm, cow kisses... intriguing...
ReplyDeleteI'm not entirely sure I want that full sized in a new window. LOL. Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot and a cute angle. Odd indeed. LOL
ReplyDeleteDefinitely an odd shot, Andree! A little too close for me! :D
ReplyDeleteIt's large enough for me -- the only thing enlarging it would do is to prove it has a runny nose! Great odd shot tho! I probably would have been scared and fallen backwards and broken my camera!
ReplyDeleteI am late because I was busy this past week but finally made it.
