Turkey Hen

After sitting for hours on the porch with the Kodak on a tripod (my Canon was being dried out, but more on that later), one of yesterday's hens came close enough for this shot. I never realized how, well, unattractive turkeys are!

Flying Turkeys

I stalked a flock of wild turkeys today. They began to fly down the hill I was on and I managed to catch many in flight. More of the photos can be seen in my Wild Turkeys Set on Flickr. They are not very graceful when they fly. But it was wonderful hearing them call to each other as they met under a grove of fir trees after their flight.

Three Hens

I saw these three hen turkeys on Tuesday, which was the day I forgot my camera. I never thought I would see them again, but I did, today. They were very calm as long as my car was moving, but as soon as it stopped, they dashed off the road and into the woods. I never have gotten a good shot of a turkey yet, but these will do for now.

Turkeys

A flock of turkeys was in the field today. While not the best of the photos I took, this photo best shows how they scratch the snow to find grains underneath. There were at least twenty turkeys in the flock.
