Wild Apple Blossoms

Despite two weeks of snow the first two weeks of May, we had lots of apple blossoms on the wild apple trees in the orchard. We are hoping it means a great crop of apples in the fall!

The Deer and the Apple Buds

This is a healthy bud on one of the apple trees. It was difficult for me to find a bud and it was over my head. There are no buds at my eye level or below. In the photograph below, you see that a deer has eaten the bud off of the apple tree branch, as they have eaten all the buds that they can reach. John says this is not a problem because we will have plenty of apples high up.
