Green Sunfish in Wheeler Pond

Lepomis cyanellus

We went for a drive on Wheeler Mountain Road awhile back and found a lot of great photographs. In Wheeler Pond, this sunfish was guarding her nest near the shore of the pond. Here, her top fin is laid back so you can't see its glory.
