Help Wanted: Guess the Sparrows
Is this a fox sparrow above? A song sparrow below? I know many of you must be sparrow experts! The white pellets here is hail/snow. Yes, it snowed all day yesterday and has snowed today. As soon as we have all identified these sparrows, I will be able to tag them. Thank you!
15 April 2008: Thanks to Abraham Lincoln, I have identified these sparrows. The top two are chipping sparrows. The bottom two are song sparrows. Thank you, Abe!

ReplyDeleteHave a look here
Song Sparrow
I believe the top one is a Chipping Sparrow and the bottom is a Song Sparrow. You can go to my birds blog and have a look.
ReplyDeleteI guess the bottom one is a Song Sparrow, but not pretty sure.
ReplyDeleteHowever, one thing I know ... they are magnificent photos.
We have some of these sparrows in our yard too. I haven't been able to get any quality pics like you have though. Too bad you aren't here to photograph them for me! lol Then we could identify them too.
ReplyDeleteAbraham knows his birds ... great shots, Andrée ... I especially like the chipping sparrows.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have the song sparrow in my back garden. They're new ones to me. Beautifully captured.
