Mother Snake

Common Garter Snake (16)

Thamnophis sirtalis

This mother snake had lots of babies this year. If you silently opened the porch door on a sunny morning, you would see all of them warming themselves. I never got a photo of the babies because they were unbelievably quick to react to the slightest movement. In this photo, the snake's eyes look angry. U an fascinated by the pattern of the scales on the snake.
