Red Fox

Foxes confound me. They are easily identifiable in the wild yet when I look at their photographs they look odd to me — as if they can't decide what species they are. In fact, many people think they are in the cat family and an equal number think they are dogs. This fox was very small but well fed and was walking on a road I was driving on. I got this photo from the open car window. I had to turn awkwardly to photograph him over my left shoulder before he ran. The other photos can be seen in my Red Fox Flickr Set.
