Sugar snow is the late winter snow of huge wet flakes. It helps the sap run and I hear that the sap is pouring out of the taps this week even though last weekend it was barely running at all. The weather is warmer and the snow makes for beautiful photos. I didn't go for beauty — just views. Above: a long shot of the bird tree on the east side of the house.
I can open the back door now because enough snow has melted. But I can't get out the door, so I simply stuck the camera out and shot. The barn and well are above.
Up the hill towards the woods. We were let out of school early today because the roads were so bad. When clicked, these photos will open, full size, in a new window.

More snow?! It's supposed to be quite warm tomorrow and Sunday in Southern Ontario. Maybe all the snow and ice will soon be gone. I'm ready. ;-)
ReplyDeleteInteresting post. I think our maple sugar industry is either declined or in decline.
