Sky Watch Friday: Lake Memphremagog and Owl's Head

It was a beautiful, warm afternoon. Perfect for a snowmobile ride across Lake Memphremagog in Newport, Vermont. Owl's Head, the mountain on the right, is in Québec. Half of Memphremagog is in the United States and half is in Canada. I am pretty sure that the long mountain on the left is Bear Mountain in Troy, Vermont. When clicked, this photo will open, full size, in a new window.

  3. Beautiful photo -- especially the SNOW!!! I mean great sky shot to look at when snowmobiling on a river! Our Columbia River has only frozen once and that was long before I moved here. People walked over to Oregon on it and some drove cars over the ice.

  4. You're getting a new camera!! I was totally (jealous) distracted from the photo by your good news. lol

That looks like fun, but I'm still leery of those frozen lakes, even though I KNOW how cold it is, my brain doesn't accept the frozen (will not open up and swallow me) as a fact!

  8. Beautiful---but so cold. It is hard to imagine snowy weather when we are partly sunny and in the 50s.
