A Windy Day for Butterflies

Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio glaucus)-5.jpg
Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio glaucus)

May 27 was extremely windy here. The lilac had bloomed beautifully this year and there were several swallowtails drinking of it. But the wind often grounded them, as it did with this one here. He was not injured, just tossed about. The swallowtails seem to emerge when the lilac does. I haven't seen such a great year for lilacs in quite awhile. I have dozens of photos to share of the life that descended on the bush for a week.
