European Starling (Sturnus vulgaris)
Starlings are not native to North America but they have adapted very well and are endemic in some areas. However, I seldom see them in Vermont. Years ago in late summer, after the red-winged blackbirds left for the season, a huge flock of starlings would spend nights in the bog grass. But that hasn't happened in the last three years. This starling was photographed in City Point, New Haven, Connecticut in November, 2010.
