Macro Monday: Hoarfrost

On the sandy beach of one of our ponds, we found this hoarfrost poking up. I'm fascinated by hoarfrost because of the way it is made. The ice is pushed up through the surface by the water and ice under the ground. It is very delicate ice and disappears as soon as the sun comes out.
