Cabbage White Butterfly

Pieris rapae

I was sitting on the deck reading my book (with my camera by my side, of course) when this yellow butterfly came flitting by. I grabbed the camera and took only one shot because it was flying everywhere and never sitting still. I was so pleased and surprised to see that it was laying eggs. This explains why she never sat still or ate. My identification was confirmed by the bugguide.net forum.
