Full Pink Moon

Full Pink Moon — April: This name came from the herb moss pink, or wild ground phlox, which is one of the earliest widespread flowers of the spring. Other names for this month's celestial body include the Full Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon, and among coastal tribes the Full Fish Moon, because this was the time that the shad swam upstream to spawn. from Full Moon Names and Their Meanings.

The calendar says the full moon will be on April 20 (in two days). I took this photo on April 17a at approximately 7 PM. It came out well so I'm using it as my full moon photograph for the Full Pink Moon. The moon you actually see here in the photo is a waxing gibbous moon — 95% of full. Waxing gibbous moon is nearly as good a phrase as Full Pink Moon so I get to use two great phrases instead of one!

You have posted a lot of excellent material since my last visit and I like it all.

It was interesting to see the beaver bog and the cattle.

That is an outstanding shot of the coltsfoot!

    Excellent work!
