Ruffed Grouse
This comical grouse was waiting for us in the road. If only I had had my new zoom lens then! But I didn't, so there is distortion here. This was taken through the windshield of the car. Later, the grouse thumped and displayed it's tail feathers for us. In Vermont and New Hampshire, grouse are called partridge.
