A long shot of the thawing May Brook as it runs through the beaver meadow.

A closer shot of the beaver lodge seen in the first photo.

The lodge from a different angle.
Geese and ducks will soon nest on the hummocks that rise out of the water.
These hummocks are beginning to show as the snow recedes.

There is a large brook at one edge of my land that crosses the road in a culvert and comes out into the beaver bog. In this photo, the running water runs at the bottom of this snowy canyon. This is a great view of the depth of the snowpack here (approximately 2-3 feet or 1-1.5 m).
When clicked, this photo will open, full size, in a new window. The mound of snow in the back is another beaver lodge.
