I pulled out my Peterson's guide an...I don't know. I pulled out my Peterson's guide and they sure look like Downey to me. The laddering up the sides of the wings go pretty high to be Hairy, don't you think? I can't really judge the bill size in comparison with the pics I have, but the large bill would be a distinctive hairy feature. And they don't have that little side patch of dark on light just at the top of the wing like hairy's do.
